Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0: Softer, stickier, and still perfectly clear!

We've Reimagined the Clearly Comfy Cushions to Bring You the 2.0!

Since we’ve first launched our Original BeauGen Breast Pump Cushions, we have always asked you what you thought. The overall feedback was positive, but lots of mamas and lactation professionals wanted to be able to see through the cushions for better nipple alignment.  So our small team of moms (and one dad!) went back to the drawing board and created the first generation Clearly Comfy Cushions. Customer feedback is invaluable to us, so again we asked our community what they thought.  

We heard loud and clear that the Clearly Comfy Cushions solved alignment issues, but some moms missed the softer, stickier material of the Original BeauGen Breast Pump Cushions. So our product design team reimagined these clear cushions and we are pumped to announce the launch of the Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0!

By collecting feedback, talking with new and long-time customers, as well as  exploring new technology and manufacturing processes, we were able to successfully reimagine the clear cushions to solve the challenges that our pumping mamas were facing. 

Pumping is a labor of love. And while it takes time and effort, we firmly believe that it shouldn’t be painful. Our latest cushion takes the very best from the previous product, and makes it softer, yet more durable, relieving even more pain from pumping.

Exactly How Are the Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 Reimagined?

Cushion Creation Method

We created more than just a new cushion. We worked diligently with our manufacturer to  to remove the injection points, making a seamless cushion for your pumping comfort. Reminiscent of our Original Breast Pump Cushion, Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 are designed to withstand more pumping sessions as a result of the new technology. 

Tacky Touch and Feel

Our Original Breast Pump Cushions had a tacky touch and feel, which helped to create a better seal with the flange. Some moms felt that this made the cushions harder to insert, and so in the first generation of the Clearly Comfy Cushions we scaled down this tackiness.  CCC 2.0 has a slightly tacky material reminiscent of the original,  promoting a better seal with the flange while retaining its cone shape for easy insertion and removal from the flange.

What Remains the Same?

Opacity, or Lack Thereof

The new Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 are still clear to help moms achieve better alignment. When inserted into the flange, the Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 allow moms to track the alignment or placement of their nipple within the tunnel of the breast pump flange. 

Size and Shape

All of our cushions have always been the same thickness. The second generation Clearly Comfy Cushion is the same thickness as the first generation Clearly Comfy Cushion and the Original Breast Pump Cushions. Each cushion is 1mm thick all around, so it will reduce the flange size by approximately 2mm. We recommend going up a flange size unless you are in between sizes.  

Flange Fit

The Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 retain the same fit as their predecessors. The cushions reduce the overall flange tunnel size by approximately 2mm. We recommend the Clearly Comfy Cushions 2.0 for moms looking for a desired flange fit between 19-25mm. Therefore, our breast pump cushions are compatible with flanges sizes 21-27mm. 

We’ve heard from some of our mamas that they find success achieving a 17mm flange fit using the fold method. The fold method decreases the tunnel by 4mm, so folding the cushion while using a 21mm flange may help you achieve a desired flange fit of 17mm. Simply fold the tunnel of the cushions down like a turtleneck.
